Se.cure

This is a story about Se.cure, an offline retreat experience dedicated to empowering the next generation of emerging Indian leaders (EILs). Se.cure helps individuals wrestle with the truth of their life story. Its clients are primarily people who are in the Christian faith, have experienced a bit of what the world can offer, and desire to invest in the kingdom of God through various endeavors.

Se.cure is also a social media platform that creates content that benefits the larger community. Its specificity is rooted in the desire to learn how to talk to one community before speaking to a broader audience, thereby maintaining intentionality. Se.cure’s clients range from nurses to engineers and people in ministry.

Se.cure was founded in 2023 by Sabina Pappu. Sabina is very familiar with the challenges facing EIL. Moving from India to attend college in the United States brings many obstacles: a new culture, making friends, finding mentors, or even simple things like knowing where to buy groceries. Sabina said, “Se.cure is a safe space for emerging Indian leaders. The vision is to be an offline retreat space where emerging leaders come together and can receive mentorship from established leaders.”

Sabina talked about why she thinks this work is so important. She said, “The main gap I saw in this generation was just lack of mentorship and discipleship. Leadership development and Christian leaders are very isolated in the U.S. Once you are a Christian leader, you’re on your own, and I don’t agree with that model.” Sabina and the rest of the team at Se.cure want emerging Indian leaders to be the best version of themselves and understand how the past, present, and future are connected. Once they grasp their story, they can use it as a catalyst for profound leadership.

I was able to get at least one testimonial from a former client regarding the coaching business Sabina launched recently, but they will remain anonymous. They said, “Sabina [Pappu] is safe—she’s uniquely curated a space for the person who doesn’t trust and also doesn’t know how. She knows how to ask thoughtful and provoking questions and never rushes to speak. In my coaching experience with her, she always took time to respond instead of reacting to what I was saying, and she was so prayerful and intentional with me!”

Se.cure is still in its infancy, which comes with its challenges. September marks the first year for Se.cure. According to Sabina, they’re still looking for other coaches and advisors. There is still an incredible amount to learn about running a nonprofit, but the team at Se.cure is up for the challenge. They want to grow but remain intentional and dedicated to each person and their story. Se.cure believes that your life story has immense power, but that power can only be accessed by knowing and telling the whole story.

Your story matters. Wherever your story started, it brought you here, and if you let it, there is no telling where it can take you.

The End.
